Conn Selmer Educational Clinician
Marissa Turney is a Percussion Specialist residing in Carmel, Indiana. Marissa obtained her MM in Percussion Performance from Indiana University and BM from the University of Central Florida. Presently, Marissa is Director of Percussion at Mount Vernon High School in Fortville, Indiana. In 2022, Marissa joined the Conn Selmer Educational Clinician and presented at the Conn Selmer Institute and the Midwest Clinic on Fundamental Keyboard and Percussion Techniques, Building Percussion Fundamentals in the Large Ensemble, and Percussion Equipment Maintenance. Formerly, Marissa served as a Percussion Specialist for the Carmel Clay School District from 2016-2019 where she coordinated the Middle School percussion curriculums and worked with the Carmel High School Marching Ensembles, Wind Ensembles, and Orchestras. Marissa has served on the UCF Summer Institute Faculty where she speaks on and coaches ensembles through Brazilian and Afro-Cuban instruments and styles.
